The baker’s dozen recap of Active Adult 4 Less featured homes and communities.

Since June of last year, I have given you 13 installments of the Active Adult 4 Less article.  It has been, and will continue to be, an ongoing series of cost-effective options and choice in communities, homes and lifestyles to fit the pocketbook of boomers and active seniors in these challenging economic times.

For those of you just joining us, I am going to recap some of the offerings from those original 13 installments in order to highlight the great values that I have discovered.  Enjoy!

Active Adult 4 Less Part I discovered an active adult community of new and resale manufactured homes on leased lots touting itself as Delaware’s most affordable 55+ (and maintenance free) community, Southern Meadow.  They are currently offering a new 1,396 sq. ft. home for quick delivery at just $139,045 and that certainly qualifies itself as Active Adult 4 Less.

Single level ‘ranch style’ condominiums have always been very appealing for many reasons such as the low maintenance aspect, affordability as well as no stairs.  That’s why I chose to feature them in Active Adult 4 Less Part II

One such example is the community of The Villas at University Centre in Rockford, IL.  It’s an intimate 55 and better community and they are currently offering a 2 bedroom, 2 bath home with sunroom at just $159,850.

There is also a large and successful franchise called Epcon Communities, and they also specialize in single level ranch style condominium homes.  Some of them are 55+ and others are age-targeted or age-appropriate for boomers, active seniors and empty nesters.  A few examples of such communities are: The Villas at Deep River Plantation in Greensboro, North Carolina, Pepper’s Ferry Villas in Christiansburg, Virginia and Villas of Arden Mills in Washington County, PA.

Active Adult 4 Less Part III focused on value-priced opportunities within the states of New Hampshire and Connecticut.  Our Active Adult Realtor® specialists there can help you find just the home and lifestyle that you are after and keep it within your budget too!

In our Active Adult 4 Less Part IV we went deep!  Deep South, that is!!  A few of the great communities featured in that installment were The Village at Deaton Creek, an award winning Georgia community by Del Webb located only 40 miles north of Atlanta and they currently offer a 2 bedroom, 2 bath home starting at just $173,000.

We also featured Plantation Oaks near Flagler Beach in northern Florida.  It is a gated active adult living community with quality manufactured homes start in the $70s nestled in a setting of natural open spaces and wooded preservation areas.

And, hush my puppies!  Sun City Hilton Head in Bluffton, South Carolina offers a 2 bedroom, 2 bath home (with over 1,240 square feet of living) starting at only $159,990.  The community is situated on 5,200 acres and touts a Community Recreation Campus that includes a social hall hosting lectures, workshops, dances, and concerts plus more than 80 chartered clubs. OK, don’t overlook the fitness center with a dance and aerobics studio, plus their indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Oh, and did I mention golf, tennis, croquet, horseshoes, bocce, bicycling, softball, fitness trails, plus fishing and boating on the 20-acre Lake Somerset?  There’s even a dog park for your 4 legged friend!

Wow, this is almost too much to absorb, so I will pick it up from there next time as we continue our baker’s dozen installments of Active Adult 4 Less articles in review.
